My lack of blogging has not meant a lack of NOT longing to blog, but rather, a time to be stopped dead in my tracks. Sometimes, that’s not so bad. It has given me time to stop and enjoy the small, and yes, even the simple things in life. Little? Well, if I hadn’t bragged enough already, I was blessed the day before I was stopped in my tracks to babysit our first grandbaby, Scott. OK, so, most grandparents are prejudiced, but when Scott’s pediatrician told my daughter: “Looks like you have a little Hercules here!” I felt vindicated! (We’d been bragging how strong he was!) Then the train came to a full stop. Of course I don’t do “easy” – for myself or others, and I have had the ‘pleasure’ for 4-6+ weeks to recoup from what SHOULD have been an easy gall bladder removal, but ended up in a major abdominal surgery – go figure!
So I have once more been learning humility, actually accepting offers of people to help pack some boxes, and even to vacuum. ME? Yes, that has been me. I even let some people help bring some yummies over, even though Bill has that department WELL under control! I have watched an unseasonable Alaska winter – we have had only 1″ of snow (if that) just once so far. Now cold is something else – it was 3F this morning! I have read some books from Tracie Peterson, Kimberly Woodhouse and Kayla Woodhouse, too. Excellent books if you like historical fiction – many set in Alaska or Montana! And, today, like many of you, I have enjoyed the simple day of giving thanks – something our family believes we should do EVERY day, and due to that, “what day” we celebrate, means when schedules all fit – this time it will be Saturday Can’t wait to get my eyes on our “little Hercules” again – a month is WAY too long between visits! Pictures are great, but “in person” is better!! I am blessed to have you as readers. I appreciate all you have done to promote the blog, the book Loose Screws and Skinned Knees (Amazon/Kindle/local) and the message it portrays – we can ALL overcome obstacles and adversity and turn them into opportunities and adventure! Book 2 (And Yet Another Day) is in draft/edit form, and book 3 (Don’t Wimp Out!) is in beginning writing. My travel will be more limited, but I look forward to technology to help me with the goals and gifts and have to share. Until then, Happy and Blessed (American) Thanksgiving and the start of many holiday traditions!
