                  SEt aside

Are you willing to be set aside? If you are, WHEN you are, how will you react?
When rough times hit, often it is NOT of your doing, but you will have to walk over and through them, so as to make the way smooth. There is a saying: “tough times don’t last but tough people do.” When you come out on the other side, you will find wisdom gained and your territory enlarged, to encourage others on the way.

ASK YOURSELF THIS TODAY: ARE YOU WILLING TO RELAX AND STOP EVALUATING AND JUDGING YOURSELF? WILL YOU STOP FOCUING ON PAST REGRETS OR FUTURE FEARS, AND LIVE IN THE PRESENT OF TODAY AND ALL THE WONDERS IT WILL UNFOLD?
                          So......ARE you WILLING?

While I don’t believe in ‘New Year’s Resolutions’, I DO believe we each go through Seasons in our lives.

Many photos shared in my blogs reflect the changing ‘Seasons’ of the year. They can be great descriptors. But I also think of ‘Seasons’ in terms of what is going on in my life at a particular moment.

Recently, I have come out through several Seasons that collided together – showers of Seasons, if you will:

  • §  Showers of joy at the birth of a granddaughter, Samantha Marie to Jamie/Jeff on Dec. 12, and the joy of watching big brother Scott as their family grew.
  • §  Showers of love as our family gathered together.
  • §  Showers of pride as our kids come into their own as parents and/or advance in their areas of work and giftedness.
  • §  Showers of being  blessed by the physicians who keep my loose screws tightened, who  use cutting edge technology  to alleviate pain as my spine literally self-fuses itself or who are able to give me new ‘hole’ in my head so I can ‘hear’ more clearly – even after  the original tube failed.
  • §  Showers of abundance as we share and enjoy the hundreds (yes, hundreds) of jars and vacuum-packed bags of freshly home grown/baked goods that Bill prepared over the summer and fall.
  • §  Showers of laughter as we enjoy being with the kids, playing with the grandkids, the dogs and friends.
  • §  Showers of delight as we enjoy all that Alaska has to offer: from fireworks that ring in the New Year, spectacular Northern Lights, great snow, lots of sun and  below zero temperatures to boot!
  • §  Showers of gratitude for each  of YOU: for the many ways you have touched our lives, encouraged us, laughed and yes, even cried with us, and so much more.

So, in this moment I wonder:  “What Season(s) are YOU in?”
