Living in the 'grace' of 'the one'

How many times have you heard the saying "take it one day at a time?"

Like me, I wouldn't be surprised if you had heard it more than a few times! The first time I heard it was when my dad shared it with me. I was 8 years old, and it became my 'life verse' (Matthew 6:33-34.)

The last few months, between the multiple holidays, bonus rounds of the flu being passed around the family, neighborhood, and Dr. offices, I spent more "set aside" time. Yet, this 'set aside time' was markedly different from the 4-5 months earlier in 2017 that I experienced.

In the first 'set aside' time, I found my 'territory enlarged', meeting many new people as we spent hours together getting IV's. Many stories were shared, many lessons learned, many coping tips were traded.

This second 'set aside time' has been a time of experiencing a deeper, stronger sense of what 'taking it one day at a time' can mean.
On more than one occassion, I encountered the phrase: "The One".
I have pondered for hours over the last few months what it means to live in the grace of "The One", the I AM;

I have pondered how will I extend grace, to myself and others, as I to live in the ONE moment. What does it mean to "show up", to live in the PRESENT, to live in His Presence – every moment, every hour, every day?

And, I had to learn, that when my plans for the 'ONE' day falls through, I need to look for 'The One's' adventure in store for me.

For The One, The I AM, never fails.

Care, you write so sweetly... your blog is like a devotional! I clicked 'like' but it is really 2 likes, as I read it to my wife [who likes to be anonymous on the internet, but you know her] and she liked it, too!

We two, too, had 'bonus rounds' of something awful, but we don't think it was 'flu.' Cough&coldcough&cldcough&cold, each bonus round taking about 3 weeks. Then [anonymous] tripped and broke a bone in her right hand [dominant]. You know how independent she is, and how many things she does that I thought I would be of help with! She has even been learning to write cursive with her left hand. Last night when I got home from a 5-hour hym-sing, she had me copy out a verse that she had done as she timed me. By my familiar printing, I did it in a quarter the time; by unfamiliar cursive, it was 3-times as long as my printing attempt! I should try cursive with my left hand, as she did, but I was certain it would take more time than hers!

We think we are out of the 'bonus rounds!' She made it to church and SS with me; then I led songs at a nursing home and then went, as is my habit on 3rd Sundsys, to a little Mennonite church east of Hubbard where they SING! Men's choir practice from 3-5 and song service from 6-8. Glorious! You would love it. Those Mennonites all know their part and sing it out; all acapella! So beautiful, and so beautiful the words and message of the largely unfamiliar hymns [I think we sang about 3 that I knew].

Blessings to you & Bill. Open your gift! A day spent with the Lord is not wasted and is most welcome recalled. ...geo

Care, what a lovely post & important reminder. To REST, be present & more importantly in HIs Presence. One moment, one hour, one day at a time! I love George’s comments too. Blessings to you my brave, strong, Spirited friend!
